Lionel Messi scored his first goal against Premier League holders Chelsea on Tuesday as Ernesto Valverde’s FC Barcelona confined Antonio Conte’s men to a 1-1 attract their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 encounter at Stamford Bridge.

For the Blues and Blaugrana, after their sensational semi-last match in 2012, this was their thirteenth gathering in Europe’s tiptop rivalry. Antonio Conte shockingly sidelined Chelsea’s deadly striking couple Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata. The Blues began things on a higher note with charm Eden Hazard, who was a stubble away in giving the hosts an early lead in the underlying phases of the match.

Brazilian midfielder Willian was a star turnout for Chelsea yet was cursed for the duration of the night until the point when he scored the opening goal for the Blues in the second half. The 29-year old Brazilian hit the system not once but rather twice in the primary half.
