Celtic and Netherlands defender Virgil Van Dijk has denied a move away from Scotland in the deadline day.

Virgil Van Dijk denies possibility of transfer to Arsenal on deadline day

Arsenal look like they have finished their transfer business for January after their transfer target Virgil Van Dijk cleared that the defender will be staying at Celtic for the rest of the season. The dutch defender was asked about his thoughts on the move away form Celtic and he responded that he has no intention to leave and the club wants him to stay as well.

“Interest is fine, it’s always good to have people watching you but I can do nothing with interest and it looks like Celtic don’t want to sell me so it looks like I’m staying here.

“I’m happy here of course because Celtic is an amazing club and I love being here.”

Arsenal have already announced signing of Villareal defender Gabriel Paulista and was amongst the substitutes in this weekend’s win over Aston Villa. Paulista has been handed the iconic No. 5 shirt.
