Laxmi Hyundai MMC come back from two goals deficit against Bangladesh outfits Abahani Limited as they settled in a 2-2 draw to share points and keep their hopes alive for the semifinals.
The defending champions that faced a 2-1 defeat in their first match against Pune FC made a 2-1 victory against Assam Electricity FC in second, however a draw in the third match means they keep their knock out hopes alive with four points in three games. Shiva Shrestha scored an equilizer and added an assist in first goal as MMC steal a point with Bangladesh league runner-ups.
Abahani got ahead in 30th minute of the game when Nasir easily confused Bishal to find the net, Ismail doubled the lead seven minutes later as Abahani saw them in comfortable stage at the end of the first half.
MMC that needed a historic comeback found their first goals as Anil Gurung’s effort in 51st minute halved the deficit for the defending champions of the tournament.
MMC got back second as an equalizer when Shiva Shrestha headed an easy rebound in Bishal Rai’s shot that was first stopped for a deflection.
