Real Madrid won their 10th European Cup which is popularly known as ‘La Decima’ meaning the tenth title. Real Madrid beat their arch rivals Atletico Madrid 41 in Extra Time in last year’s final held in Portugal. Sevilla on the other hand beat Portuguese opposition Benfica in penalties to win first Europa League title under Unai Emery.

In the last six meetings between the sides, Real Madrid have registered four victories while Sevilla have walked away with win in two occasions. The most recent meeting s between the sides went in favor of Sevilla as they wonthe match 2-1 in home with a brace from Carlos Baccca. Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring then for Madrid.

Cristiano Ronaldo palyed some minutes in Real Madrid’s last friendly match against Manchester United and is expected to play a part somewhere in this tie but may not start the game. New signings James ROdriguez and Toni Kroos might play a part in the game but it is unlikely Keylor Navas will be picked ahead of Iker Casillas. Gareth Bale is fully fit and will look to mark his return to his hometown with a spirited performance. Fabio Coentrao will start on the left as Marcelo is yet to make his comeback from World Cup as is Sami Khedira.

Sevilla are playing first competitive match since their skipper and midfield talisman Ivan Rakitic signed for Barcelona this summer. They also had their on loan player, Stephane M’bia called back by parent club Queen Park Rangers, which mean Unai Emery will field Krychowiak and Iborra in the defensive midfield and Aspas behind Bacca in attacking third with Jairo and Vidal in wings. Liverpool target Alberto Moreno will play in the left back with Coke in right.
