Nepal Police Club defeat host city Biratnagar as they mark their place in finals of Shree Ganesh Man memorial Football tournament ongoing at Shahdi Maidan, Biratnagar.

An own goal in the first half added lead to the departmental side which was later equalized in the second half, however Jumanu Rai’s penalty conversion confirmed Police’s place to the finals defending the hosts.

Nepal Police club played beautiful football in the first half and added pressure which led Biratnagar for an own goal after a ball deflected on Sandip Rai to add their name in the scorecard in the first half.

Ganeshman Singh memorial Football Academy, however equalized later in second half as they utilized a corner to make it all square. A corner delivered by Deepak Rai was well followed by Sagar Thapa’s amazing volley that was well controlled by Karna before he placed the ball in for equalizer.

However the glory lasted short for hosts as Sagar Thapa conceded a foul on Bhola Silwal on his own box which awarded Police the match winning penalty. Man of the match Jumanu Rai did no mistake to place the ball easily into the net for victory.

Nepal Police club will play the winner of second semifinal which will be played between African United and Tribhuwan Army club on Friday.
