Liverpool FC could be interested in Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa as Fabio Borini, Lucal Leiva and Daniel Agger set to depart from Anfield.
Liverpool could plot a bid on the Spainard, however they know they will face serious challenge as Costa remains strong Chelsea summer transfer target this season.
As Mirror revealed, Chelsea could plot anywhere from £50million deal with a stunning £185,000-a-week contract for the striker, Liverpool could afford to spend something similar to strengthen their attack given that Brendan Rodgers offloads some players to add to transfer fund.
Meanwhile Atletico Madrid coach coach Diego Simeone has requested their directors not to offload the star striker at least for a season. Atletico Madrid are set to request Costa not to leave the Spain Capital at least for a season.
Chelsea remains the favourites to land the Spainard at the English Premier League, however Arsenal also displayed interest in the 25 years old striker.
Diego Costa confessed that he was near to join Liverpool Football club before the start of this season which remained a successfully one for the red that inspires them to spend generous amount this transfer window.
“I had the chance to leave. I was about to do so,” Costa told Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo back in September 2013.
“Liverpool are a great team. But, after so much fighting and overcoming many difficulties to earn my place at Atletico, how was I going to leave?
