Sahara FC sets final date with African United

Pokhara based Sahara Football Club registered a hard fought victory over Dharan Football Club to enter the finals of the 16th Budhasubba Gold Cup. Sahara Club sidelined the host team in a sudden death (9-8) when the regulation and added time ended as a 1-1 draw. Ashim Jung Karki of Dharan FC scored an opening goal of the match in the 21st minute in the pass of  Santosh Sahukhala.  Suman Lama leveled the score in the 59th minute of the game in the pass of Saroj Dahal.

When the regulation time was ended as 1-1 draw, match headed towards added extra time but both team locked in a 1-1 and match was pushed to a penalty shot out. The match was ended in a 9-8 in the hand of the Sahara Football Club when Sandip Rai’s shot was saved by the goalkeeper of the Sahara in the sudden death. Prakash Budhathoki of Dharan Football Club was declared a man of the match.

Sahara Football Club will take on African United in the finals of the 16th Budhasubba Gold Cup.
