Dharan FC, leaded by Boys Union captain Sagar enters the quarter final of the 12th AAHA RARA gold cup for the first time in 12 years. They defeat Nepal Army Club 2-1 to enter next round to face Nepal Police Club.

“We were lucky today”, captain-cum-coach Sagar Ghimire said in a post match conference, as they saw themselves lucky as the cross bar denied Nepal Army attack twice in first 10 minutes of the game.

The first goal came from the winning side as they were awarded a penalty as former Friends Club captain Deepak Gurung brough Segun down on his own box. Segun scored easily without any mistake to make it 1-0 for Dharan.

Raju Tamang utilized a defensive flaw to send Tek Bahadur Budathoki’s cross home to make it all square before the end of the first half.

Segun got his personal second in second minute of second half which confirmed Dharan FC 2-1 victory as they enter the quarter final of the tournament. Meanwhile Nepal Army run through a poor season as they get knocked off the tournament followed by a sorrow not being qualified in the super six.
