Werder Bremen are just three points clear off the relegation zone, so they will be looking for a win when they take on Borussia Dortmund.
Dortmund are following through a comparatively poor season as they are 17 points below the defending champions and current league leaders Bayern Munich with whom they were challenging for a title last season.
Dortmund stand third in the league table as they have five of their 19 matches winning 11. Last match Dortmund played in Bundesliga was in January 31 when they registered a narrow 2-1 away victory against TSV Eintracht Braunschweig.
