Defeated 1-0 by the Democratic Republic of Congo in their opening game, the Mauritanians have no choice but to avoid a defeat that will mean an early exit from the continental competition. And based on the performance they displayed against the 2009 winners, they have what it takes to get a positive result out of the Burundians.

Mourabitounes will be without their skipper Moussa Bakayoko, who was sent off against the DRC. But they will welcome back Mohamed Yacoub Deina Bah and Taghiyoullah Mohamed Denna, their two key players in the midfield, who were suspended for the opening game.
