“We say no but we lie, because until the last day when the market is open, we are all waiting for something to happen. Even when we say we are very happy with our squad, we lie, because we want all this to make it better.”
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, in a press conference a few weeks ago mentioned the words. If any of us were to believe that Jose would not add anyone to his rich option of players, the words above just outline the fact that managers lie! And that to make the team better!
With Bertrand Traore and Nemanja Matic signing for the Blues this winter, Chelsea are looking to strengthen their squad, most probably in forward position! With Chelsea trio of torres, Ba and Eto’o adding just eight goals in the Premier League this season, the most likely player to sign looks to be Diego Costa! The Athletico Madrid star looks a real gem and is probably in his form of life. This Brazilian born player who took the citizenship of Spain to play in the World Cup has netted 19 times in as many appearances! Thae fact that Jose Mourinho and Costa have the same Agent Jorge Mendes has a huge boosting factor for the Blues to land this 25 year old striker from Athletico Madrid!
Another player who looks to be in Chelsea radar is Luke Shaw! With Chelsea left-back Ryan Bertrand loaned to Aston Villa, Blues will be looking to add Shaw from Southampton! Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City are reported to be in the race to sign this 19-year old English under-21 player! Particularly with Ashley Cole gaining his age, Shaw would be perfect addition to the squad when Mourinho is time and again emphasizing the long term plan he has set for Chelsea!
Other players probable to sign for Blues this winter is Fredy Guarin from Inter Milan! This 27-year old Colombian is a versatile midfielder and is capable of playing at any position! But, with Matic landing back to Stamford Bridge, the transfer now looks to be unlikely! Wayne Rooney and Radamel Falcao are other names in market linked with Chelsea this winter.
