The departmental derby invited the thrill and excitement, however the match saw no winner as Tek Bahadur Budathoki’s goal was equalized by Ganesh Khadka’s goal.

Ganesh Khadka celebrates his first league goal for NPC

The game started with an early chance from Nepal Police club on a corner delivered by Bhola Silwal. Bhola’s cross found Ramesh Katwal on a header and his shot was denied on a goal line by Tanka Basnet who guarded the far side of the post.

Tee second shot on target from Police men came in 25th minute when Bhola Silwal made a shot on target in 25th minute which the Army goalkeeper Ganga Ram could not hold onto, Ramesh Katwal finds the rebound but fails to direct the rebound ball in target.

Tribhuwan Army got ahead on a terrific effort from Tek Bahadur Budathoki as his effort to beat right full back Ajit was followed by a shot that found the second bar before it struck for Nepal Army club lead in 30th minute.

Nepal Police club replied back quick with Ganesh Khadka making his first ever goal for Nepal Police. Former YHSC man Ganesh utilized a move from Rabin Shrestha and Ramesh Katwal to find the equalizer for Nepal Police.

The first half saw 1-1 draw after a super strikes each from both sides.

The first notable attack in the second half came from Nepal Police club early when a ball from Parbat Pandey was followed by Jumanu’s shot that was well denied by Ganga Ram Deuja.

The ending period of the second half included a miss from Bharat Khawas in 75th minute after he could not utilize a beautiful ball from Tanka Basnet. Meanwhile NPC waste a golden chance in added time as Dipen Shrestha failed to target a shot from as close as five minute to share spoil with Nepal Army Club.
