MMC dominated most of the moment of the first half where Sankata Keeper Pierre remained the star. The early attach from MMC that came in 6th minute as a form of Yona’s flick in Sujal’s cross was a victim of great block from Pierre while 12th minute cross from Bikram Limbu was missed by Yona whose slight flick could have got MMC an early lead.
CMG Club’s first attack missed was in 25th minute where Barsat Gurung misjudged on a ball which he should have made an attempt but unmarked Barsat headed to find his player in the box and gifted away the possession to their opponent. Sankata’s another chance overruled was a minute later when Nishan Limbu’s shot was headed away on a goal line by Azeez , referee denying a call for a goal from Sankata men as the half ended goal less.
The second saw more attack from MMC as they finally got ahead in 58th minute, Anil Gurugn doing a fine work from the right to find Yona who gets lots of time to head the ball home. With the goal, Yona surpassed Jumanu Rai(3) to lead the highest goal scoring chart of the tournament with 4 goals.
MMC could have eased their victrory but Sankata goalkeeper being a wall to MMC attacks makes a back to back save, first denying Sujal and second time making a great long ranger from Mbile Stephen who placed the rebound in target.
Sankata were unable to make any momentum in the second half debasing in attack as they faced some more MMC attack. Anil Gurung’s 83rd minute cross was flicked high by second half sub Rupesh KC .
MMC were lucky not concede a penalty when Krishna Shakya was brought down in a great chance chasing Bishal’s Shrestha’s miss-hit on a back pass.
