Surprise Package Boys Union Defeats Army to Enter Final

Boys Union enters the final of the tournament as they defeat Tribhuwan Army club in the tie breaker.

The teams remained analogous at the end of the first half both missing couple of chances, Army missing comparatively many. The first chance wasted was from Boys Union club when unmarked Sagun Shrestha headed off the frame in the 10^th minute of the game. The ball delivered from Kamal Shrestha who managed to clear the tangle to find unmarked Sagun Shrestha was a victim of a header that was placed over the target.

Army missed couple of chances, Bharat Khawas missing several for Army men. The ball from Nawyug Shrestha in 13^th minute could not reach to Bharat Khawas whose even a small tough could have added a lead to dictating Army. Two minutes later Bharat Khawas failed to head a ball that was sent in from Hiranya Magar to deny another leading chance for Army.

It was Bharat Khawas again who got a shooting space in 32^nd minute but placed the ball above the target from the edge of the box, however a 39^th minute penalty appeal from Army was ruled out to make it all alike at the end of the first half.

Army got an early second half lead with Santosh Nepali heading a ball sent in from Hiranya Magar from the left flank. Army missed good opportunity to double their lead as Bharat Khawas’s cross to Tek Bahadur Budathoki was a victim of poor header.

Tribhuwan Army’s goalkeeper Ful Bahadur Lama does a blunder to miss an easy grab, as Sashi Rai’s effort from 30 yards was gifted a goal by the opponent keeper which guided the game to the extra time.

The extra time remained much more interesting as two goals from either team within two minutes made the story alike. Boys Union got a goal on a long ranger from Binod Lama whose shot got deflected on Army men to find the net. Army replied quick with Nawayug Shrestha scoring from as close as five yards to make it all square.

The second half of the extra time saw no goals which leaded the game to the tie breaker.
