Nepal Army club records a 5-2 victory in a fascinating way to enter the semifinals of the Ncell cup tournament 2070.
Nepal Army Club started the game in rather attacking note as the first minute strike from Tek Bahadur Budatoki went over the bar. They continued to dominate the early period of the game which got them first half lead in 22nd minute of the game where Raju Tamang fired his team ahead with a right footed volley that stroked the pole before entering the net.
The lead could have doubled had Sagar Gurung not saved a header that came in from Nepal Army club defender Prem Nepal in 26th minute of the game in a corner ball.
Yeti Himalayan Sherpa regrouped later in the game as they built back the possession which in turn could have gave them the equalizer, though Pukar Ghataraj missed a ball from Segun which he had ample of time and space to shoot but he hurried on a shot that went over the target as Himalayan Shera were bound to trail at the end of initial half.
The second half started with an early miss from YHSC, Dhiraj Tamang did well enough to seize a back pass from Army club and made a through ball to Segun who found himself in a one vs one position. His run was followed by a fine final shot but was denied by even better block from Nepal Army club custodian Ful Bahadur Tamang to deny YHSC equalizer.
Raju Tamang launched great counter attack for Nepal Army after YHSC corner, delivering it to Tek Bahadur Budathoki on the other side who made fine shot into the bottom corner in the 51st minute.
Yeti Himalayan Sherpa Club could halve the deficit as former Madhyapurian Bivek Pratap Panta gifted a spot shot to YHSC after an untimely challenge on Segun which Pukar Ghataraj placed into the left bottom side of the post. The goal came in 55th minute of the game.
The glory could not last long as Bharat Khawas’s great control on a long shot leaded by an assist on a line to Tanka Basnet who tapped with an ease to find Army’s third goal in 57th minute.
Tek Bahadur Budathoki made it all in the Army’s way after he found a rebound followed by a couple of deflections which he placed with a perfection to make it 4-1 in 72nd minute but YHSC did not end up fighting as they found a goal from Segun’s two minutes later shot to make the score line 4-2, however the goal was not just enough for YHSC to make a comeback in the game as Tanka Basnet wrapped up the Army attack ending with a great long ranger in 86th minute of the game to make the final score 5-2.
