Samsung Jawalakhel Youth Club now has petite chance as they end up with one point in two matches.

The match remained evenly matched, with both teams making lesser effort to trouble the opponent custodians. It was CMG Club Sankata that remained the first one to make an effort on goal with first effort coming only in 12th minute when captain Salyan Khadgi’s long delivery from almost half of the ground was well controlled by Ritan Shrestha whose final shot rather found the far post denying early Sankata lead.

Jawalakhel had their first effort on goal denied by Sankata goalkeeper Pierre who remained disciplined all long the game, he dived well to deny a fragile header from Raj Paudel in Subash Gurung’s ball in 27th minute as the remaining period of the half remained defensive, as both teams remains rather cautious.

The second half started with an early attack from Jawalakhel. Their free kick effort was followed by Ram Thapa’s effort which Sankata keeper dived to save, Ajay Thapa was all alone on a rebound which he failed to connect on a volley, even a single touch could have found the Jawalakhel lead.

Sankata could not utilize their chances as they were seen flimsy, Jawalakhel’s other effort denied by great display from Sankata Keeper Pierre who advanced forward to stop Raj Paudel’s shot on Kanya Gurung’s low pass.

Jawalakhel could have stunned in the later minutes, however Ram Thapa’s extra time shot from opponent box found the cross bar.

Jawalakhel club’s chance to make it to the next round now completely depends on CMG Saknata v Nepal Army Club as Sankata loss can only define their fate.
