Iraq remains the toughest team in the group which they already proved in the group C opener. Starting with a high flying 8-1 win over Turkmenistan in the group, the previous semifinalist, winning against Iraq remains a tough achievement for Nepal.

Nepal started the qualifying matches in positive note, winning 2-0 in the opener on a match Ajann Bistan and Ananta Tamang scored for the home team.

Nepal will play their second match against Iraq before they play Turkmenistan in the final match of the group. A win in both remaining matches means Nepal will have good chance while a defeat today and win in final match means Nepal could still make it to the final, however will have to wait for all qualifiers results as five best of the ten second placed team in the groups make it to the final round along with 10 group winners and hosts Thailand.
