Bijay Gurung announced his retirement as he was not included in SAFF championship which was a decision in rush. He explains the reason behind his decision on retirement.

The 27 year midfield maestro has always been heart of Nepalese Football. ANFA’s decision to rule him out of the SAFF squad disheartened thousands of fans while his decision in hurry, to retire from International football broke even more fans.
Bijay Gurung has announced his retirement through International football and has promised to prove in club level. The 27 years old midfielder has been one of the best players in 2011 SAFF, but his injury gave him less time to play which keeps him out of SAFF championship squad.
“Injury never left me alone, I tried my best but could not make it into the final cut. I never though that I would be left away. A mixture of feeling caused due to injury and frustration for not making into the final cut caused me think over my resignation.” , Bijay told.
“There are lot of new comers who are really good, my retirement would certainly let them play for nation” , he continued.
Bijay Gurung started his international career on 8th December 2005 and has already appeared 28 times for the country.
