More than 1000 schools are participating in The Coca-Cola Cup seventh edition which is the largest grassroots level U-16 Football tournament in the country expected to involve more than 16,000 students.
Todays chief guest Ram Kumar Shrestha, Misinter of Youth and Sports Ministry inaugurated the tournament by handling the ball to match referee. In the opening ceremony Minister Ram Kumar Shrestha , ANFA Vice President Ganesh Thapa, ANFA General Security Dhirendra Pradhan delivered the speech regarding the tournament. Some schools from Kathmandu participating in the tournament were present in the march pass and the Nepal APF school won the competition and were awarded prize by ANFA Prez Ganesh Thapa.
In the opening match Bright Future School won Prakashish International Acedemy by the score of 3-1.With the total estimated budget of Rs. 1,24,60,000. Coca-Cola Nepal is supporting the tournament with 45 lakh rupees, the Ministry of Sports is supported with 18 lakh rupees and the remaining amount will be spent by ANFA.
