Sulav’s Hat-Trick Gifts MMC Gurkha Cup Title

Sulav Maskey celebrates his Hat Trick

MMC got ahead in tenth minute as Army defense left Sulav unmarked who scored an easy goal in Shiva Shrestha’s cross on an interesting match played at Dasarath Rangashala.

Second goal came from Anil Gurung in 18th minute as Shiva Shrestha managed to get another assist for his team. Sulav’s pass to Shiva was followed by an assist that helped MMC to double their lead.

Tanka Basnet helped to decrease the deficit as his great effort in 29th minute helped Nepal Army halve the deficit. Tanka Basnet triggered the counter move as he moved past Nabin Neupane who could not stop Tanka. Tanka beats the keeper and passed the ball to Kashi Raj who scored an easy goal as the first half ended 2-1 favoring MMC.

MMC were boosted with attack right from the beginning of the second half as they found another goal just three minutes after kick off. Sulav Shrestha scored on a similar passion he did in first half. Anil Gurung failed to connect on Rupesh’s cross as Sulav who was left unmarked scored an easy goal.

Raju Tamang’s wonder longe ranger shot struck the right side of the post which denied Nepal Army’s comeback changes while Tanka Basnet’s powerful shot after great run was blocked by Bishal who displayed beautiful performance throughout the tournament.

Sulav Maskey reached his hat trick with a long ranger on Deepak Rai’s assist.

The match ended 4-1 after Kashi Raj’s placement on net was denied for offside call as Meche who was in offside position.
