Two First half goal from Boys Union build strong lead for RCT as newly promoted side Boys Union proceed to the semifinals of the tournament.
Boys Union collected two goals in first half after they played attacking football in early quarter of the match. The first goal came from Kamal Shrestha who scored on a headed ball on Kiran Rai’s cross. Ashim Jung Karki doubled the lead in 21st minute after he scored clinically on Binod Lama’ss ball. Binod Lama initiated quick counter attack on a two vs two situation and his pass to Ashim Jung Karki resulted to a goal.
Two minutes later after the second goal, Boys Union could have trepled the lead but Ashim Jung Karki’s header failed to get into the target. Kamal Shrestha made a cross to Ashim who found open net but his headed shot went over the cross bar.
RCT could have dropped down the pressure in 37th minute but Sulav Jung Rana’s shot hot Dipesh Thapa’s touch and the ball went over the target.
RCT’s second half one of minimum attack came in 53rd minute when Shekhar Limbu’s shot struck the cross bar. RCT failed to score any in the second half as the group D winners are scheduled to meet Nepal Army club in the semifinals.
