Kiran Chemjong made three saves on a tiebreaker to lead his team to the semifinals of the ongoing Gurkha Cup.

Three Stars got a good opportunity to score in the eighth minute of the game but Bijay Gurung failed to strike on Jagjeet Shrestha cross. Three Starcontinued their attack while Dodoz’s poor shot was easily collected by Bikesh Kuthu. Three Star were denied by a post when Sabindra’s curled shot found the bar rather than the net in the 20th minute.

The Jawalakhel Youth club got an opportunity in the form of Kanya Subbah’s header but his header on a pass from right flank went close to the far post.

Three star missed fine opportunity in the 34th minute when their captain Santosh Sahukhala failed to make a simple touch on Dodoz’s cross which could have found them the lead.

Jawalakhel stopped three goal scoring chance on a single occasion. Dodo’s shot was first blocked by Bikesh Kuthu as Bijay Gurung found the rebound and his shot got deflected to the defender. Sahukhala got the rebound ball but even his shot was stopped by defender.

Three stars continued to attack in the second half but Jawalakhel were the one to have first say in the second half. Pradip Maharjan’s free kick was well saved by Three Star goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong.

Biraj Maharjan’s cross in 57th minute was found by unmarked Sabindra Shrestha who placed his shot directly to Bikesh Kuthu who made no mistake.

Biraj Maharjan’s long ranger on 68th minute went just above the bar while Kuthu hardly got a fingertip save which denied Jagjeet’s wonderful free kick.

Jawalakhel Youth club got lucky on 80th minute as Bikram Lama’s shot found Femi’s leg which changed the direction of the ball as Kuthu could not judge it but the ball struck the sidebar as the game was directed to the extra time.

Three Star cluub continued their attacking football in the extra time while Jawalakhel continued defending. Femi’s header on Sabindra’s cross went above the bar which was starting attack from Three Star in the first half of the extra time.

Bikram Lama failed to connect open header as Bikesh Kuthu failed to judge Prakash Budathoki’s cross and the miss was followed by whistle which suggested the end of the first period of extra time.

Jagjeet’s free kick was half cleared by a defender in the second period as Prakash Budathoki got the rebound but fired the shot way over the target.

Three Star failed to score even though they enjoyed a comparatively high position in the second half of the extra time.
