Machhindra club defeats Police club who lacked communication within players. The final score remained 2-1 favoring Machhindra.
Machhidra club started first half in positive note with Karna Limbu’s effort. His 8th minute effort after fine control was not in target. Police club replied some minutes back as Dipen Shrestha’s header on Parbat Pandey’s free kick went just over the bar.
Machhindra capitalized Suraj B.K’s error to take the lead in 16th minute of the game. Karna Limbu snatched the ball on Suraj B.K’s poor back pass and passed the ball to Bishal Rai. Bishal Rai’s shot found the far post while former NRT player Sushil K.C made easy remarks on the goal sending the rebound ball back into the net.
Police club lacked coordination in their defense line which almost costed them another goal in 22 minutes but they somehow escaped the attack.
Karna Limbu remained super throughout the game. His hat trick against Saraswati gather him some confidence which he used against Police club. His free kick was hard saved by Raitesh or MFC would have been two goals up in the game.
Ritesh Thapa remained fabulous in many occasions in first half as he denied Satya Narayan’s attack in 28 minute but had no chance two minutes later when Ragin Dhimal’s long cross went directly on Bishal Rai’s head which doubled Machhindra lead.
Jumanu Rai halved the deficit in 40 minutes, his shot hits inner side of far post for a goal.
Karna Limbu remained unlucky for second time in same half as his good effort found the bar. Ritesh could do nothing but to see the chipped ball go over him to hit the bar.
Police club looked improved in second half but they lacked the kind of game Birat Krishna expected from his boys over Machhindra who looked well balanced.
Karna Limbu’s hard work on left flank found Sushil KC but his final headed shot kissed the bar in 66 minutes, Ritesh Thapa almost handed another goal to the opponent as his failed trick gifted his opponent goal scoring chance but somehow luckily Ritesh’s tackle from back did not go wrong on referee Bikash Mahat’s eyes.
The final whistle confirmed Machhindra’s place in the last 8 of the tournament as they are first team to enter to the knock out stage.
