Simrik Saraswati Youth Club beat Iceberg Madhyapur Youth Association 2-0 to register third victory of the campaign.

 

Both the team were into the match with needing nothing but 3 points if they are to stave off relegation and Saraswati ended the game on happier side with brilliant performance from foreign recruit Yona Elias. The game started with both sides equally matched on attacking plays and posession but when it came to taking chances Yona stood up and put Sarswati forward on 28th minute in this must win match.

SSYC were without their regular coach Dhruba KC due to family problems and stand in coach Pradeep Nepal made change in the half time which proved decisive as substitute Krishna Gopal Shrestha’s cross on an hour mark was met by Yona yet again and he beat Madhyapur goalie Bikesh to put Sarswati further ahead and on driving seat in the match. The second goal proved decisive and Saraswati took home the 3 important points which will release some pressure of the club.

With this loss, Madhyapur are still in the relegation zone and are 3 points below safety whereas the win means Saraswati are now on 11th position with as much points.
