Machhindra were into this game needing a win to keep hopes of topping the table alive in first round whereas Sankata had to get something from match to strengthen top 8 spot.

The game started with Machhindra attacking well but Sankata had opportunities to take lead which was not utilized by Sankata forward Ritesh Khadka. Not utilizing the chances cost Sankata dear as Karna Limbu scored past Pierre after Sankata defenders failed to hold on nerves while the end of first half was approaching. Pierre had saved two brilliant Deepak Rai shots in the first half but the goal at the end was mot he would have hoped for.
It was 56th minute of the match and moment of brilliance from Skipper Dipak Rai helped Machhindra double the lead. He went past a defender excellently and cross aimed towards Bishal A inside 6 yard box was not reached by diving Pierre and Bishal sealed the scoreline with the goal. Near to the end, Machhindra lost Bishal A due to injury and it looked somehow serious.
Machhindra coach said the squad is playing well but are fatigued. ‘The team has easy matches in comparison to previous ones but that does not mean we are taking them lightly. Every match is important for us and the opponents will give their best as they are under huge pressure’,he cleared. He also said that he has been giving rest to the players and training lightly so that they will remain injury free and can give their best. ‘The chances of finishing top of the table at the end is high but we must keep playing good football in every match.’, he ended.
On the other hand Sankata Coach was dissapointed with his side and told that early misses cost them. ‘Machhindra were good on counter attacks and lack of pace in the team cost us.’, he said. ‘We are playing well but our wings do not enough pace and we must depend upon our counter attack and defense.’,he quoted.
Sankata are on 7th whereas the win takes Machhindra to second place with 10 matches played.
