Manang Marsyangdi club registers a win against Tribhuwan Army club making their route to the round of 8 easier.

Sujal-Shrestha

Scoring either half of the game, Laxmi Hyundai MMC registers second win in their two matches of the group stage  as they make their path to the knock out stage more easier. They are now leading the group with 6 points as they sidelined their strong component Army in an interesting match played at Dashrath Stadium.

The first half had enough of drama as the field turned into an arena as Stephen Mbile(Chico) had a clash with Army player  Jitendra Karki for which both of them were shown yellow card. Soon after the drama Sujal Shrestha utilized the ball from Amir Shrestha in the 30′ of the game from a corner kick which made the fans more violent, result of which one of the fan was taken into custody.

Understanding the mental pressure Chico had after the clash, team coach Krishna Thapa substituted him allowing Sabindra Shrestha to enter the field. The first half then ended on Manang’s favour.

Army displayed their thirst for equalizer as they started to build pressure as soon as the second half started but it was Anil Gurung who deflected back the pressure to Army’s side as he scored the goal of the match after flicking the ball right ahead of the goalkeeper who was helpless.

Although Army struggled to chase back, they were unable to score in the remaining minutes as they lacked better coordination between the players.
