Born in 1991, the 23 years old left back has been great addition in Nepalese National team since his debut back in 2008 on a 1-0 defeat to Korea DPR in Hyderabad. With his abilities to stop advancing opponents and his hunger to attack, Rabin has always been reliable defender with quick counter attacking abilities.
Rabin Shrestha was selected to ANFA academy during his days at Ji.BI.SA U-14 matches where he played as striker. His previous history as a striker makes him so good at attacking that he has already scored 15 goals for Nepal Police Club.
Rabin started his footballing career as a striker but he was later transformed as a left back during his days at ANFA Academy where he trained alongside Bharat Khawas, Biraj Maharjan, Chetan Ghimie, Kiran Chemjong and others.
Rabin Shrestha started his domestic career with Sankata Club when he first played his A division match back in 2063 B.S. He then devoted himself to Nepal Police club in 2007 where he has committed his entire youth.
Nepal Police Club has won three successive league title in 2010,11 and 12 where Rabin Shrestha was entwined part of his team.
When asked about his best Nepalese players, Rabin did not hesitate to speak about former Nepali Skipper Rakesh Shrestha along with Raju Kaji , Hari Khadka and his defending partner Sandip Rai.
Highly inspired to Spain’s Sergio Ramos, Rabin’s dream is to win some major tournament with National team.
Talking to givemegoal.com he recalls an incident when he was offered Bangladeshi citizenship in AFC President’s Cup at Pakistan. He was the key player when NPC secured a first runner up.
Rabin Shrestha considers AFC President cup 2007 as his best moment in Football where Nepal Police club reached final of the tournament which is the best Nepalese club has ever done in the tournament. Never to forget, Rabin made brilliant save on the goal line, however Police club lost 2-1 Dordoi-Dynamo.
