Super League – Three Star Clinches Lalitpur Derby Victory

Three Star Club continues its domination in the league table after Sahukhala’s decider inspired Three Star club in 1-0 win.

The first half of the game could not separate these teams as couple of miss pass from both team and some great defending stuff compelled either team to remain un-separated.

First ten minutes of the game remained dull as no team could start the attack. Either team failed to keep the ball as a result both of them shared possession.

First corner for Three Star came in 10^th minute, Bijay Gurung’s corner ball found Ruben who headed the ball to Femi who was unmarked, he headed the ball but unfortunate to stars that his shot went just over the crossbar.

Diarra made an attack which was first threat to Kiran Chemjong who punched the ball for corner. Jagjeet’s corner was inches high for Bishnu KC who was in great heading position.

Three stars were blessed with another chance in 20^th minute of the game as Santosh Sahukhala found Femi inside the box but Femi directed the ball over the bar from few yards. Few minutes later Femi made beautiful cross which subdued Friends defender but was a difficult ball for Victor who could not control the ball. Had Victor made that touch, Three Star could have been 1-0 up.

Diarra missed great opportunity for Friends club as he could not connect the ball. Bishnu K.C’s great work found Diarra unmarked few meters away from the goal line but he could not connect the ball which was as easy as pie.

Friends club search for other opportunity after Diarra’s missed an easy chance. Jagjeet Shrestha who looked in poor form since his super league performance managed beautiful long through ball to Prakash Budathoki who could not collect the ball before Kiran Chemjong could grab it on his paw.

Second half started slow as players seemed busy to maintain their chemistry. Santosh Sahukhala got long ball which Bishnu K.C cleared before the TSC skipper could make an attempt on goal. Biraj’s great run found Bijay Gurung who was denied by Friends keeper Toyin but Sahukhala placed the ball into left side of Toyin who could do nothing to deny the goal. Sahukhala’s goal in 52^nd minute got Three Star ahead in the game.

Santosh Sahukhala’s fine dribbling in 64^th minute created shooting chance for Bikram Lama who made the final shot wide of the post.

Jagjeet Shrestha and Diarra’s fine move led Prakash Budathoki’s long range shot in 70^th minute which displayed Friend’s frustration after they were unable to find the equalizer.

Santosh Sahukhala was given one on one opportunity with the goalkeeper Toyin who blocked Santosh’s attempt to take the ball past him.

Jagjeet Shrestha’s attempt on a free kick got Diarra’s head who beautifully flicked the ball to the post but Kiran Chemjong managed to rule the ball out for corner in 80^th minute. This was only one of few Friend’s attempt for equalizer in second half.

Despite bad start in super league, Three star’s comeback adds dominance in the top position of the league table..
