Nepal Police Club Shares points with Manang Marsyangdi as Jumanu Rai misses golden opportunity to strengthen Super 8 chance.
First half action awarded both teams goal while no teams were able to score in the second half on an interesting match played at Dashrath Rangashala.
Nepal Police Club admitted the pressure in the game as they were on a decisive match against all time rivals Manang Marsyangdi. Every time these two team would have been competing for titles but the story remained different today as the defending champions struggled to book their spot in the super 8.
The game started on attacking note when both teams pressed for goals from the very beginning. However it was Nepal Police club who found the lead in 21 minute as Bhola Silwal scored from Yogesh’s free kick which NPS were rewarded after Nirajan Malla’s handball. Manang could have got an equalizer had Anil Gurung connected the beautiful cross from Sulav Maskey in 26th minute.
The story could have been different if Bharat Shah had not been late in 1 on 1 chance with Dare which was brilliantly tackled by Sabindra and the tackle was tagged as the goal saving tackle.
Anil Gurung who missed earlier equalizing chance collected beautiful through ball from Nirajan Malla just before the end of first half in 41st minute to find the equalizer.
The juice of the game remained un-squeezed in second half as both team started equal. Nepal Police club missed a superb chance to take game under their control as 51st minute substitute Jumanu Rai missed one vs one chance with Dare. Jumanu who replaced Bharat Shah in 51 minute placed ball over the bar on an easy chance.
The tie diminish NPC’s chance to remain at super 8 as they completely depend upon Saraswoti’s performance meanwhile this result favors top 7 club including Friend’s stay at Super 8 one matches earlier.
Saraswoti faces Nepal Army in their last match where even a draw will be enough for the goddess to stay at super 8.
