Nepal Army grabs full three point from decisive first half score from Bharat Khawas.
Nepal Army club climbs to sixth position in the league table after they find match winning Bharat Khawas goal in the injury time of initial half.
The game started in slow pace as no team looked desperate to score the goal. The ball was highly possessed in the midfield with neither clubs able to display remarkable performance forward. Nepal Army club got the lead through Khawas’s rebound shot which got them ahead in the game. Khawas was able to easily place the rebound ball into the net after goalkeeper was unable to grab Santosh Nepali’s strike in injury time of first half.
Second half started in attacking note as Sankata were goals behind but first attack of second phase came from Army on a great coordination from Tanka Basnet and Bharat Khawas up front. A fine cross from Tanka Basnet almost doubled the lead as Khawas’ header went inches away from the woodbar.
Meanwhile Ritesh Khadka misutilized chance to comeback in 77th minute as he could not finalize Ibrahim’s fine effort which cleared up Army defense for Ritesh.
This defeat broadens Sankata’s distance from super 8 spot as they are now 3 points away from 8th place Saraswati Youth club.
