Machhindra were in the wrong side of the scoreline when the final whistle blew at the Stadium as they were beaten 1-0 by Saraswati.

The gme started with favorites Machhindra pushing on for early lead but Saraswati captain Michael was a brick wall for Bishal Raii ‘A’ less Machhindra attack and they could not break in to score. Machhindra’s presssure was just increasing minute by minute but they were left reeling when Yona Elias scored a brilliant goal to cap his recent perofrmace and take Sarswati ahead in the match. He went past a dfender from the wings and cooly curled the ball past Dinesh who just could see the ball go into the lower corner. Machhindra were down and had to score to make any chance of getting ahead in the table but heroics of Ashok Baral denied Dipak Rai a certain goal. Rai’s freekick was excellently punched out by diving Ashok which seemed to travek ito the top corner.Machhindra went into the half a goal down and the coach needed strong words in the break.

Machhindra were now pushing up for equaliser and introduction of Bishal Rai ‘A’ for Denis, who was totally flop throughout the match looked to be the turning point but Ashok was not ready to be just beaten. His double save on hour mark and brilliant pressure to Karna five minutes later to keep the team ahead. Deepak Rai and co did everything they could but ichael and Ashok along with their strong defensive set up never lose a momentum and were 1 up in the scoreboard when final whistle blew.

After the match, Sankata coach Maheswor Mulmi said that not taking the chances that came by cost them the three points. He said that the performance was well and there is no complaint on the effort given by boys. but we have to take chances to make any hopes of making place in Top 8. “We still have four matches in hand are hopeful of finishing in Top 8”, he ended.
