Penalty Kick Steals Two Points From RCT

RaniPokhari Corner Team played a draw against NRT in match number 24 played today at Dashrath Rangashala.

NRT managed to make an equalizer from a penalty to share point with RCT in the ongoing A Division Football league. It was Dinesh Magar who provided RCT a lead in the first minutes of second half which was equalized by Segun half an hour later after converting penalty.

It was RCT who dominated the attack causing NRT defenders some problems in the defense line from the early minutes of the game. RCT could display proper coordination in the midfield but lacked proper finishing up front. The real chance for RCT was missed in the mid of first half when unmarked Komal Khawas could not utilize a cross from wing as the ball got deflected to NRT defender.  Although both team looked equally disciplined and organized, none could cause any threat to opposition goalkeeper.

Second half started with RCT having one man advantage as Saheed was shown yellow card twice in the first half and within no time after the second half started, Dipesh Thapa Magar scored a brilliant one allowing RCT to advance forward in the game. Later NRT needed a penalty to equalize as Segun who was fouled by Sanjib Budathoki took the kick himself making no mistake.

The drama of the game did not end right ahead as Rajin Dhimal was red carded few minutes after the goal and NRT were compelled to play with 9 men. Although Afeez got a great chance in the 85th minute against struggling NRT but he failed to score despite of his deserving effort which went just inches away from goal proving NRT’s fate stronger enough to snatch away points from RCT.
