Bayern Munich says there is ‘no truth in the rumors David Alaba is going to Manchester City’

David Alaba injury news; ruled out for rest of the season

Alaba has won a host of trophies with the German giants since arriving from hometown club Austria Vienna in 2008. Bayern Munich have dealt Manchester City a fresh blow – by warning Pep Guardiola to forget about David Alaba.

The Etihad boss is interested to raid his former club for the Austria left-back, 24, who is rated at £40million. City’s need for new face in defense was underlined by Wednesday night’s 4-0 Champions League loss at Barcelona.

But Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insisted: “There is no truth in the rumors about David Alaba going to Manchester City. He recently extended his contract with us until 2021. Every big European club knows what that means with Bayern.”

“That is to say that we are completely relaxed about his situation. His departure is not on the agenda at all. I have lots of confidence in David. I think he can become even better.”Bayern coach and ex-Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti added.
