The Gunners supervisor has at the end of the day brought issue with the striker, pointing the finger at him for what appeared a simple choice for the official right off the bat in the London derby.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger asserted Chelsea’s Diego Costa was at flaw for Per Mertesacker’s sending off in their 1-0 rout on Sunday, in spite of the apparently obvious nature of the foul.
Costa had been sent clear through by Willian’s go in the eighteenth moment, with Mertesacker hacking the striker down as the Spaniard sped towards objective. Still, Wenger brought issue with what had all the earmarks of being a simple choice for arbitrator Mark Clattenburg.
“He got him sent off – you can’t say it’s not genuine,” Wenger told Sky Sports. “Costa has had two of our players sent off in two diversions. so he is cunning. In the first diversion he got Gabriel sent off, today he got Mertesacker off. Was the tackle unpredictable or not? Did he touch him? I’ll need to watch it again – however an actuality is a reality. I am not blaming him of anything – it’s exactly what happened.”
