Nepal Football Team Skipper Sagar Thapa and four others arrested over suspected match fixing

Nepal National Team skipper Sagar Thapa has been arrsted by Nepal Police over suspection of Match Fixing along with four other players.

Sagar Thapa, who has been captaining national side since 2009 has been arrested today. Along with him, vice captain Sandip Rai and other National players Ritesh Thapa and Bikash Singh Chhetri have also been arrested. Former National Player and former coach of Three Star Anjan KC is also taken under custody.

Speaking to eKantipur, Sarbendra Khanal, SSP of Nepal Police said that the players are suspected of involvement in International fixing. He has said that they are co-ordinating with international sources for further investigation.
