England will play Switzerland in the new Wembley Stadium with Wayne Rooney looking to be England’s top goal scorer of all time.
When England beat San Marino 6-0 in the last match of EURO Qualifiers, they confirmed their participation in the EURO 2016 to be held in Paris next year. Along with the qualification of the team, it was a special day for the skipper of the team. Wayne Rooney leveled the goalscoring record which was set by Bobby Charlton. Coincidentally Charlton had 49 goals in 106 apps, which Rooney managed in same number of appearance. As the skipper goes to the field for the 107th match today, his eye will be to score the 50th goal that will make him top scorer in English Football.
Rooney began his career on his early days and has been scoring for England through the years. Even though he has scored most goals for England, he is often criticized for not turning up in the major tournaments. He failed to score in World Cups until 2014.
