When the group draw was revealed, nobody thought the Netherlands would be facing this situation given their history in the qualifiers. Even in the final round of the tournament, they always have good results to show. But this time, the team might not get to the finals of the tournament as the team is in very danger situation of crashing out. As the team lost 3-0 to Turkey with Arda Turan among the scorer, Danny Blind and his team are on the verge of missing the next football extravaganza to be held in France next year.

Netherlands are currently fourth in the table and play-offs is the only way they will have chance to qualify. They will need to win both games and hope that Turkey slip up in order to secure a playoff position.
