In the last two competitive matches between the clubs, Arsenal have won one game while Lyon are yet to register a win. One game between the sides ended in a draw. The last match between the sides was played in 2001 as a part of UEFA Champions League tie and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

There has not been much of a change in Arsenal’s squad this season but rumors of big signings arriving in order to improve the squad have been heard a lot. Arsene Wenger is aiming to sign a striker to ease the load on Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud who got more than half the goals in the squad last season. In Lyon’s case, they have been actively involved in Pre-season friendlies and this comes as their fourth game in last two weeks. They lost to Sion and PSV but came back to win 2-1 against AC Milan. Lyon will take on Villareal in another friendly match.
