David De Gea set to stay at Manchester United as Real Madrid look for De Bruyne transfer

Real Madrid have opted not to sign any keepers this summer as they are willing to wait to land Spain international David de Gea on a free transfer next season. De Gea’s contract expires next season and with no extension been approached by the English side, De Gea might leave for free.

Los Blancos’ hopes to prise De Gea away from Old Trafford failed as Louis Van Gaal said De Gea will stay but they did try to lure Ramos into Manchester. Van Gaal’s side lodged a transfer bid in of £30million last month for Ramos, which was rejected. The approach led to dispute between club and player but it was later solved by handing captaincy to Spanish international defender.
