After Liverpool’s decision to not award Glenn Johnson a contract extension, the move has fueled in speculations regarding the Reds interest in Real Madrid’s right back Alvaro Arbeloa. With Real Madrid confirming the signing of FC Porto right back Danilo few weeks ago and Dani Carvajal making the right back spot his own, Liverpool are said to be bringing back the Spanish International back to the Anfield.

Arbeloa hardly started matches this season and even if he did, those were when Carvajal got suspended or was fatigued. With second fiddle position degrading to third in the upcoming season, Arbeloa will want the move to go through.Rodgers is looking for a right back in the market as Johnson’s contract expires this summer and Liverpool are not offering him an extension after poor performances in recent matches despite earning 100k per week. Southmpton’s Nathaniel Clyne and Barcelona’s soon to be free agent, Dani Alves are also being looked upon as possible arrivals.
