Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric set to return from injury

Croatian International and Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric is given green flag to return from injury.

Luka Modric is set to make a comeback from his injury after spending weeks away from match action. Modric, who was one of the most consistent player for Madrid before getting injured picked up a groin injury while on international duty with Croatia. He made his return to the training earlier this week and has been cleared to make his comeback this week.

Modric however will need to wait for his return as Carlo Ancelotti remains cautious not to lose him with a setback. He will likely be included in the matchday squad to play Villareal and could resume his duties against Atheltic Bilbao a week later. Real Madrid will then face FC Schalke 04 in the return leg of Champions League round of 16 fixture to be played in Santaigo Bernabau. The first leg played at Schalke ended 3-0 in Madrid’s favor.
