Injured dutch international striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar has returned to training as Schalke prepare to face Borussia Dortmund.
Schalke Manager Roberto Di Matteo has been handed a timely boost ahead of much anticipated Revierderby at Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. The dutch international hobbled off in last week’s UEFA Champions League loss against Real Madrid and there were fears of him missing the action for rest of the season.
However, the initial reports were false and the striker just had a niggled. He has resumed the training and is likely to play a part in the local derby. Huntelaar missed last four league matches because of suspension and will make his comeback if he proves his fitness ahead of the match. Italian Manager Di Matteo is already without defender Joel Matip for the fixture and will not be looking for a sad result considering Dortmund’s resurgence in the league after a stuttering start.
