Mario Balotelli has been in the wrong end of expectation as he nears Anfield door after torrid first season at the Merseyside.

Mario Balotelli

Despite scoring two goals in two games, Mario Balotelli has failed to get a starting place in the Liverpool lineup. He came on as a substitute to score the winner against Tottenham Hotspur, the club Liverpool are rivaling for the Champions League spot. Despite better performances in the recent matches, Balotelli has been criticised by the manager and players in the media. Balotelli scored the only goal in the club’s cup win as he converted the penalty to put Liverpool into the next round.

The Italian has been openly crticised by the manager for his work ethics and perofrmance in the training and could pave a move away form the Anfield. Balotelli has scored one goal in the Premier League and will want to move away after being proven flop in second stint in the league.
