Chelsea might have their two influential personnel suspended for Capital One Cup final as Nemanja Matic’s dismissal might be joined by Mourinho’s touchline ban
Chelsea are on the process to appeal Nemanja Matic’s red card against Burnley after the midfielder was sent off for the shoving of Ashley Barnes in recent Premier League encounter between the sides. Ashley Barnes made a dangerous tackle on the Serbian midfielder, which was tagged to be ‘career-ending’ by Mourninho later in the post match conference. Mourinho then presented himself on a TV Show in SkySports on Sunday and blasted on the performance of referee and said his side is being trated unfairly this season.
The straight red-card means Matic will miss upcoming League Cup final against rivals Tottenham Hotspur and then two premier league matches against West Ham and Southampton. Mourinho might also face some action by the FA after his comments at the post match conference. Mourinho was fined 28,000 pounds by the FA last month as well.
