Wayne Rooney unhappy with the midfield role as he looks to play defensive midfielder against Preston in The FA Cup
Wayne Rooney is said to be unhappy with the role he is being given by the current Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal. Rooney is being used as a central midfielder as Manchester United go through turbulent injury period. The 29-year old England and Manchester United skipper has not led the line for long time now and is yet to register a shot on target into this calendar year.
Out of the 21 matches Rooney has played, he has started as a striker in five occasions and has returned 2 goals and 2 assists. Rooney as a Central attacking midfielder has returned 2 goals and an assist in three games. His 15 games as a central midfield player has just brought in 3 goals and an assist.
