After weeks of speculations, Norweigan Prodigy Martin Odegaard has completed his transfer by choosing to sign for Real Madrid.
Martin Odegaard is set to be unvieled as a Real Madrid player on Thursday after agreeing a move to join Real Madrid. It is reported that Real Madrid have paid three million euros to Stromsgodset to sign the 16-year old midfielder. Madrid have not disclosed any financial terms but it is rumored that the teenager will be earning a whooping 80,000 pounds per week.
Odegaard came into rise after he became the youngest player to appear and score in the Norweigan Premier League. He was consistent throughout the league campaign since then and earned a national call up. The midfielder went on to make his debut in a friendly match on August 2014 and has been linked with many clubs around Europe since then.
Odegaard trained with Bayern Munich for few weeks and had visited various top clubs around Europe before making the decision to sign. The teenager’s style of play has been likened to that of four times Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi and the left footed midfielder was also a subject of interest for Barcelona. However the teenager is set to join Real Madrid B squad, managed by Zinedine Zidane and are competing in third division of Spanish League Football. He has scored five goals and assited seven in 23 appearances for his Norwegian club.
Carlo Ancelotti has described the youngster as ‘A kid with talent and perosnality’. With so much hope rested by the club it is likely that the midfielder will be breaking into the first team soon. Real Madrid are hoping to offload Asier Illaramendi in this transfer window and there are teams interested. However, Madrid are hoping to recoup at least half of the money they spent for the spanish youngster couple of season ago.
