Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marsyangdi club face a 2-1 defeat to I-League outfits Pune FC, Deepak Rai remains the only goal scorer for the defending champions of the tournament.
MMC fail to create a strong impact in the game as they go down to I league outfits Pune FC in their opening match of the tournament. Indian international Arata Izumi scored first for Pune to take the lead in the 18th minute of the game. Eric Brown doubled the lead for the victorious side in the second half finding the net in the 60th minute of the game.
Deepak Rai who was brought in as a substitute in the second half, halved the deficit for the Nepalese league winners in 83rd minute time, however the goal was not enough to steal the point from Pune that remained superior through out the game.
MMC take on Assam Electricity in their second match of the group which will be played three days later on Wednesday.
