Nepal Women’s team are grouped along with Bhutan, hosts Pakistan and Sri Lanka in group B of third SAFF Women’s Championship to be played in Pakistan, while the other group comprises of defending Champions India, Afghanistan and Maldives.
The draw was done prior a manager meeting , a day ahead of the inaugural match. Nepal will be playing its first match of the tournament against Bhutan on November 12, Wednesday.
Team Nepal has nine new names in their squad, while Anu Lama will captain the team in the absence of last time top goal scorer Jamuna Gurunga as the APF striker has been sidelined due to an injury for a team that aims for the title. The Preparation for the tournament has been good and the team expects victory, says the Women’s team coach Kumar Katwal.
