All Nepal Football Association bade farewell to Nepal National Women’s Football Team travelling Pakistan for the upcoming 3rd Women’s SAFF Championship 2014.
ANFA’s acting president Lalit Krishna Shrestha in the presence of Minister for Youth and Sports Purushottam Paudel bade farewell to the departing women’s team at ANFA Complex today. The travelling team included a 20 women and five officials including head coach and assistant coach will take off for Pakistan tomorrow.
Youth and Sports Minister Purishottam Paudel has announced to give one lakh for the each member of the Nepal National Women’s Team if they wins the upcoming 3rd SAFF Women’s Championship 2014.
ANFA Vice President shared best wishes for the team. He said, ” We hope to improve previous performance and victory is our aim”. According to the Shrestha team has trained well with the mixture of youth and experience players. He also suggested players to play with discipline.
The competition is scheduled to be held from November 11- November 20 in Pakistan. National team have trained for around three weeks for preparation of the championship.
India are the defending champion of the tournament while Nepal ended second in the last edition.

Defenders: Ghim Kumari Gurung, Amrita Jaisi, Mana Maya Limbu, Menuka Giri and Punam Jarga Magar.
Mid Fielders: Dipa Rai, Yasodha Lama, Sajana Rana, Bhujunga Rai and Renuka Kumari.
Forwards : Dipa Adhikari, Sabitra Bhandari, Anjali Waiba, Anita Basnet, Krishna Khatri, Anu Lama and Niru Thapa.
