Liverpool and England youngster Raheem Sterling is nominated for this year’s Golden Boy award along with Manchester United’s Adnan Januzaj.
Four English Players including Raheem Sterling made the final nomination for the Golden Boy award for this year. Everton Defender John Stones, Former Southampton duo defender Callum Chambers and Luke Shaw also made the final cut. Belgian youngster Adnan Januzaj joined Shaw in the shortlist. Wayne Rooney won the award in 2004 while Lionel Messi won the award a year later. Sergio Aguero was winner of 2007 while Mario Gotze scooped the award in 2011.
French International and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba won the award last term and his current teammate Kingsley Comman makes the list this year. Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma, Liverpool’s Lazar Markovic and Spurs duo Eric Dier and Nabil Bentaleb represent Premier League.
Sterling is considered as the favorite for the award, but he faces a close competition from Bayer Leverkusen and Turkish youngster Hakan Calhanglou. Sassuolo striker Domenico Berardi and Croat Mateo Kovacic are also in line for the award.
